Block Storage
6min
Block Storage is a type of storage that provides extra space for your Instance, allowing you to store data separately from the main server. Think of it like an external hard drive that you can attach to your VM to hold additional files, databases, or backups. You can add, resize, or move Block Storage as needed, and it works independently of your main VM storage, giving you flexible and scalable storage options. This is ideal for applications that need extra storage without impacting your instance’s performance.

- Click on the "Create New" (+) button located on the top rigth of the screen

- First chose the Project you want the Block Storage to be created for.

- Then you'll have to select the datacenter location where the Block Storage will be created.
- Next, select the instance you want to attach the created storage to.

- Select the volume size from the available plans or set a custom size.

- Give a name to the created Storage.
- Finally, set the billing cycle of the resource.
- When ready click on Review & Deploy.
When you create your Block Storage you can manage it from the Block Storage menu.

From there you can view the snapshots of the volume, resize it, detach it from the VM, take a snapshot and delete it.
